We had such a wonderful time at High Wycombe Fab Friends on the first Wednesday of October. We were joined by Laurelle Rond of www.yoursound.org.uk who is an exceptional Sound Therapist!

Laurelle wowed us with her knowledge, her amazing collection of singing bowls, percussion and gorgeous gong! She even sang to us whilst playing her harp… and we experience a sound bath.

An Update!

October 11, 2011 – 11:20 pm

I’ve a quick update to share with you.

I remember that for many, many years, I found myself feeling I was in the ‘wrong’ job. One friend even described me as a pinball machine! Always trying new things and always seeking something that make my heart sing. Have you ever felt like that? Something always told me that I was happiest when I was working with women, empowering them to step up and go for it (I spent years in the recruitment industry)!

Now, I know as a womens life coach and mentor, nothing gives me a greater feeling than witnessing my clients own transformations; it’s just the best feeling and I feel so privilaged to work with my clients. If you’re still struggling to find your ‘thing’ let me know, I maybe able to support you with that!

As with all things creative, my business is organic, it’s taking it’s own shape. I want to let you know that I’ve chosen to drop the Daring Damsels branding and use my own name. So my website will reflect this soon! And Fab Friends Network will have it’s own unique site – and I can’t wait to share that with you! Both will be launched very soon.

My vision a few years ago was to create a worldwide supportive network for women and I’m so excited that new Fab Friends Network groups will be opening early next year around the UK – reaching more ladies who want to feel more fabulous, who want more from life, who are ready to ignite their passions and belong to a peer group of supportive women who will encourage them to step up and go for it!

As you know, High Wycombe Fab Friends group, is soon to have a sister group Basingstoke Fab Friends, based in Sherfield on Loddon which launches this week – on Thursday 13th in the evening! Fab Friends Network, High Wycombe – August 2011

Wow! Despite the fact that most of the meet up groups and networking groups shut down for August, we had a great turn out at Fab Friends with new members joining!

It was a sweltering day and my naturally curly hair took on it’s own shape as the meeting progressed in the heat! We’re all about being ‘real’ and authentic at Fab Friends, so it’s all good!

We were joined by the gorgeous Rachael Beesley who came along to share with us how she uses EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) to support clients to break through challenges, gain better health, attract what they want into their life and so much more. Rachael has a very natural and gentle approach and generously offered to give the group a demonstration. The lucky lady who’s name was pulled out of the hat had been challenged with a situation that for some time had been slowing her down. It was blocking her energy and really consuming her thoughts, she was pretty fed up. Through Rachael’s guidence – repeating Rachaels words, and tapping on the meridian lines this wonderful Fab Friends member had a huge break through. From being a 10/10 feeling consumed by this situation, she dropped to a ’2′ after 10 minutes and a few moments later was at a ’0′! How fantastic is that?

During the tapping all at Fab Friends followed the instructions and tapped along. We all felt so much calmer, more relaxed – in fact we didn’t do our usual meditation at the end! We didn’t need to! Latest news is that the lady who openly stepped into her truth and generously allowed us to watch the demonstation, continues to feel the benefit and is feeling so much more empowered in her situation.

Fab Friends Network, High Wycombe – July

We had such a wonderful time at Fab Friends in July. We were joined by top personal stylist Jo Haley of www.newreflections.biz. Jo share with us some brilliant tips for colour, style, shape and how to give our wardrobes the once over!

Isn’t it amazing how many clothes we have in our dressing area that we don’t like, don’t wear, don’t fit us, we’ve never worn or remind us of an occasion we’d rather not remember! One of Jo’s tips was to have a good clear out and keep what will make us feel inspired or just feel good when we get up and swing open the wardrobe doors in the morning.

She shared with us how so many of us have forgotten to trust in our own clothing choices, swayed by the media, the latest trend, what our friends are liking – or not liking. It’s time to try on clothes that flatter us and raise our spirit. If it feels good, you feel sassy and ‘sexy’ or loungey and comfy – then go for it!

Have You Said Hello To Your Inner Child Lately?

Have you enjoyed spending time with children lately? Isn’t it just wonderful how they see the world and apart from tidying their rooms they find fun in almost anything?

They are playful, using their powerful imagination, they have a sense of wonder, excitement, are open minded, laugh freely and cry freely too! They love to sing, dance, learn new things and would charge down the high street making silly noises if they felt like it. They live in the moment most of the time and are freely living their truth.

Have you noticed that once we begin to develop a sense of responsibility passed to us from our families and society there come ‘rules’. Where does the fun go? Life is supposed to be fun.

Is it time to connect to your inner child again? Time to feel free to just be you? Time to play, to wonder with the eyes of an inquisitive child again? Make time to laugh and add as much fun into every day as you can. How can you make a chore a bit more exciting? How could you see it differently? What could you do just for fun today? It could take practice if you’re out of the habit; so choose to consciously make time to just let go and enjoy yourself in this moment.

Thought for today: I found this quote on a birthday card with a glorious picture of some women holding down their skirts whilst laughing their heads off on a 1950s fairground ride, it said:

You Are The Miracle!

What a treat I was given the other day! I was invited to a girl friend’s house for coffee. She is taking care of a young girl who had just had the most gorgeous baby.

What a perfect little bundle of joy he is. His tiny fingers with beautiful nails, his deep sparkling blue eyes opening occasionally to see the world he has just joined, his soft skin and pulled up knees, little gurgling sounds… oh he is just gorgeous! What a miracle he is. When you think how the human body can grow and nurture new life – without us having to project manage the 9 months, it really is miraculous.

And once the baby is born everyone coos, smiles, compliments and says what a miracle – don’t you? So when does it happen then?

When do we stop being the miracle baby and become ‘just’ me? You are the miracle, you always have been – you always will be. What new value could you place on your life remembering this?

It really is time to step up out of your comfort zone and embrace the world with new eyes, knowing that you are loved, respected, valued and more than enough already – exciting times!

What Are You Grateful For Which Is Yet To Come?

Wow, what a great response to the last blog about feeling grateful. It’s always wonderful to get feedback, I feel so grateful. I received messages of gratitude for family, new jobs, good health, pay rise and also for these messages.

I was given a Gratitude Journal last year by my mentor. It is a merchandise product from The Secret and I’ve found writing in it a wonderful experience. I write what I am grateful for now and on the opposite page there is space for writing what I am grateful for in the future – and write from my heart as if I already have/experience it.

It can feel strange saying “I am so grateful for the beautiful beach house which overlooks the sea” when I do not already have it – the amazing thing is, I’ve found it crystallises my dreams, and I go with the flow of what I’m feeling in that moment. It doesn’t matter if I repeat over and over the same feelings of gratitude because as you know, where focus goes, energy flows – ie, you get what you focus on! And it feels FABULOUS!

Go on, try it and let me know how that feels for you. Focus and celebrate your future now. Keep a Gratitude Journal and find some time each day (or every few days) – you’ll be amazed at the results you are getting – and the feelings it creates inside of you!

What Are You Grateful For Today?

What are you feeling grateful for today?

If it’s true that you get what you focus on, when was the last time you connected your thoughts to your heart and really felt gratitude for what you already have?

When times feel tough it is easy to forget how many magical things are happening, for the roof over your head, the food in your fridge, perhaps your friends and family, for your health, eyes to read this message, ears to hear fabulous music….

When we feel gratitude at a deep level we release wonderful naturally produced chemicals into our blood stream… these lift our spirits, relax us and make smiling a pleasure. When you find yourself feeling stressed. Stop for a moment, breath, take 5 minutes out to think and more importantly ‘feel’ really feel the feelings of gratitude.

Try just saying ‘Thank you’ twenty times in the morning and feeling the waves of gratitude wash over you – it’s fabulous!

Love or Rage Which Would You Choose?

Have you ever felt like you could self combust with rage? I know I have. When things just seem to keep going wrong? Like the domino effect, one thing triggers the next…. Arrrggghhhh!

Once you find yourself sliding down this slippery pathway to a meltdown it seems the only thing to do is just keep on sliding, doesn’t it? Saying “I knew that was going to happen”… and it usually does.

This is where things can change. I can now do it, and I know you can too.

So what is ‘it’? Well, ‘it’ is love. Love is the greatest feeling of all wouldn’t you agree? If you’re feeling love in your heart and body – is it possible to be in a rage at the same time? I don’t think so. They are at opposite ends of the emotional spectrum, aren’t they? You get what you focus on so choose carefully – happiness or anger/frustration?

Rather continuing down the path way to complete meltdown and rage try these 7 tips:

STOP. Take a moment to acknowledge how you are feeling and focus on your breathing. Decide to take a few moments out for yourself.
Gain some perspective on the situation. Is it really as you imagine/find it or is there another way of looking at it? Could you be kinder to yourself in this moment than you are currently being?
Depending on where you are or what your circumstance continue to focus on your breathing, close your eyes if it is safe to do so… imagine you are breathing in love, imagine seeing the beautiful colours of love being drawn towards you and circulating around your heart, maybe see butterflies and bubbles.
Breathe out all the frustration.
Focus on a better feeling thought – love. Perhaps someone you love and focus your thoughts on some of the qualities within that person or remember back to a time when you felt so happy, so full of laughter. Focus on those thoughts for a few moments and allow yourself the time to refocus on positive feelings and thoughts.
Give yourself the gift of a smile and let go.
Relax your tense muscles and open your eyes to a more positive reality.
